Meet Kristin

My journey with photography began when I was a young girl and I made my first pinhole camera. The thought of freezing the beauty around me in a photograph was captivating. From that moment on I dreamed about being a photographer, receiving my first SLR camera as a high school graduation present. That gift was the first step to my career as a professional photographer.

As my husband, James, and I began our relationship, we both knew we would own our own business one day – from a surf shop to a coffee shop, our dreams were vivid but we never found our true passion. Then one day, on family vacation, our passions came together and we knew what was our calling in life. Through time, dedication, discipline, and sacrifice, James Brandon Photography finally started to take flight. James had the opportunity to go full-time into our business before I was able to, but the dream of being partners in this business never died. It was only recently that I was able to work side-by-side with my husband, and we have been going full force ever since.

I have a passion for photography because memories are born from the pictures we take, and those moments are captured on film forever. Pictures tell stories, evoke emotion, express personalities, and are sometimes the only thing we have to remember. I absolutely love shooting engagements and weddings – the ability to photograph love in it’s truest form from the beginning is simply amazing.

Another passion of mine is traveling. My father is an airline pilot, so I have been traveling since I was a baby. As a matter of fact, I chose to do a home study program in high school so I could travel with my family. As a result, I am constantly wanting to travel and live life out of a suite case. Fortunately, James is equally, if not more passionate about traveling and seeing the world through a camera lens.

Whether a photograph helps us to remember, sparks emotion, or captures the beauty that’s around us, photography has been and will be my passion. It moves me forward, takes me back, and will always be a part of who I am.
